It is no surprise that COVID-19 has had a negative impact on our economy. Because of this devastating pandemic, many households face the reality of poverty and hunger. We at Harvestfresh Farms (Pty) Ltd are painfully aware of this fact, and are setting out to help the distressed families in our immediate community.
On the 25th of April 2020 and the 03rd of May 2020, some of our dedicated employees visited informal settlements in Sicelo, Gauteng, where we distributed more than 100 soup mixes and large parcels of mixed vegetables to vulnerable families. These families were identified through the assistance of the local church leaders. We also donated vegetables to our local old-age homes and childrens' homes, which served to feed the elderly, frail and orphaned citizens in our midst.
When visiting these families, we also provide basic training on the importance of social distancing, proper hygiene measures, and any other relevant factors that will help reduce the spread of COVID-19 among our people.
Through our continuous efforts, more visits and donations will be made in the near future to those individuals who are in dire need of it.
